The Sultan Qaboos Youth Compound for Culture and Entertainment was established in Salalah in Dhofar governorate upon the supreme orders of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, may God Almighty bless him with good health and long life, so as to follow the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture & Sciences in order to provide an appropriate environment for youth so that they practice different activities related to culture, sports and entertainment. 

The Sultan Qaboos Youth Compound for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah is considered a cultural, social, sports and artistic compound that gives the youth the opportunity to communicate with the organizers of these activities. It is also considered as an appropriate environment to display the talents and outputs of the youth so they become a source of pride enriching the community.

Functions and competences:

• Enhancing the mentality, culture, arts, and the talented in Dhofar governorate, and provide good cultural and entertainment activities for the youth.
• Providing full and renewed services as well as cultural, sports and entertainment programs, in accordance with the aspirations and ambitions of the youth.
• Seeking to improve the intellectual properties and physical skills through providing a full range of programs and services.
• Providing an integral program that would get the attention of the youth and promote their mentalities, recreational views and skills, while guiding them towards practicing activities that would develop their mind and body while improving their personality.
• Contributing in building the human mind and soul for it to become effective and able to participate in creating a new social life.
• Seeking to build a straight and normal personality for all social classes, which complies with the society’s supreme customs and values.
• Promoting and strengthening the original cultural values in the hearts of the youth to put an end to their free time disadvantages and use it to become beneficial for both the individuals and the society.
• Encouraging the youth to participate in different activities and programs, as well as to work in teams and to be held responsible on the social level.
• Organizing activities, events, programs and training sessions inside and outside of the compound in accordance with the determined plan of action.
• Adopting cultural and entertaining programs that may strengthen the ties between the compound as a patron canopy and the youth, in order to be able to achieve all the desired goals and aspirations.
• Seeking to find, develop and promote the talents of the youth and uphold their skills in accordance with the organizing frameworks in this regard.
• All other tasks assigned to the Compound in the scope of its competence.

The compound consists of the following centers:

Center for artistic and cultural activities:

Circle Center, specialized in the following:

• Conducting an integral plan to adopt the cultural, artistic and traditional activities in Dhofar governorate.
• Trying to disclose the capacities of the skilled youth in the fields related to culture, traditions and arts. 
• Organizing programs and activities that would help in promoting and developing the skills and talents of the youth in the fields of culture, traditions and arts, in addition to enhancing their capacities while taking care of them and guiding them properly.
• Developing the youth on both the social and cultural levels and preserving the values and ethics that form characterizes the Omani community.
• Organizing cultural and artistic sessions, seminars and lectures within the compound.

Sports Center:

Circle Center, specialized in the following:

• Providing an appropriate environment for sports, entertainment and fitness.
• Creating a sports culture and providing an appropriate environment for sports activities.
• Preparing the necessary services and tools to practice sports so that the whole community and social classes may benefit.
• Providing entertainment services for all social classes in the governorate.

This Center performs its specializations through the following clubs:

Supporting Services Center:

Circle Center, specialized in the following:

• Supervising the accomplishment of the administration and personnel affairs in the compound.
• Supervising the preparation of the compound’s annual financial budget and submitting it for approval and expenditure continuation.
• Constantly providing all the supporting services needed for the compound.
