Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers receives Students of Cohort Thirty

The Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers received a group of new students in cooperation with the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Centre in Washington DC and the Anglo-Omani Society; as well as, the college received students from the Staff and Command College in Muscat. The total number of students was forty-one. The students would go through a seven-week study and cultural program during the period 24 June until 9 august 2018.

The students started their day with a tour around the college facilities, and they were introduced to the teaching and administrative faculty, and services provided by the college. Then, the students listened to a detailed presentation explaining the code of conduct at the college that students need to follow while studying in there. The college provided students some recommendations they need to follow when interacting with the local community in the Welayat of Manah, during their tours and events.

The academic and cultural program includes lessons in Arabic, cultural lectures (discussing the social, economic and cultural aspects), linguistic-partner program and some workshops in calligraphy. Then, students completed the second half of the replacement test (writing, speaking and listening skills). Students would be placed in different levels based on their results in the placement test.
