At the building of the Oman Centre for Traditional Music in al Qurm, the program of building musical talents and potentials has concluded its proceedings. The program was entitled: “The Young Musician” and it was organized during the period 9-13 July 2017 by the Centre in cooperation with the Directorate General of Education in Muscat.
The program aimed to introduce the Omani music, discover new musical talents of different age groups especially in; playing musical instruments, singing and performing Omani traditional music (Folklore); as well as, introducing the participants to the Centre and its role in protecting Omani folklore.
More than fifteen participants both males and females from different schools of Muscat Governorate took part in the activity.
It is worth noting that the Centre looks forward to developing and continuing this experience, and including different levels of Omani musical talents in future.
On the other hand and within its cultural plan for this year, the Centre shall carryout in the next few months different scientific, artistic and musical events. Some of which are; field collecting and documenting works in different Wilayats of Oman, publishing new musical works (audio, visual and written), and conducting different musical nights.
